Children's Ministry at Blair Road United Methodist Church
At Blair Road United Methodist Church, we believe that children are a cherished part of our vibrant community. They play an active role in our church life, engaging in faith development, worship, missions, intergenerational opportunities, and fellowship. As they grow, the relationships they build today become the sturdy foundation for their journey as devoted disciples of Christ.
Sunday Mornings:
Our nursery warmly welcomes infants to 4-year-olds from 8:30 am to 12:30 p.m., providing a nurturing environment for our little ones. Meanwhile, our small groups for Kindergarten through 4th graders meet at 10:00 a.m., embarking on exciting adventures through the Bible with crafts and storytelling.
"Train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old, they will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6
Annual Events:
Throughout the year, we celebrate special milestones and traditions with our children. From the Blessing of the Backpacks to the joy of 3rd Graders receiving Bibles, our calendar is filled with enriching experiences like the Community Trunk of Treats, Christmas Nativity Story presentation, Palm Sunday Parade, Vacation Bible School, and more. We encourage our children to take leadership roles in worship services, guiding prayers, readings, and even putting on plays.
Community Engagement:
Our children are not just members of our church; they are active participants in making a positive impact in our community. From Reverse Trick or Treating to supporting local schools, our focus on mission changes yearly, instilling in our children the value of service and compassion.
Intergenerational Connections:
We believe in the strength of bonds across generations. Through events like Lunch and Bingo for Seniors, church-wide picnics, and Bingo nights, we create opportunities for our children to interact and learn from older members of our congregation.
Safety First:
The safety and well-being of our children are our top priorities. All adults who volunteer undergo thorough screening processes to ensure a secure environment for all.

What We Believe & Teach
We believe that God is LOVE, as stated in 1 John 4:16: "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them."
Scripture beautifully defines love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
As a ministry, we are committed to embodying these principles in our daily lives. We strive to "Walk our Talk," living out the love of God in all that we do.
Come join us at Blair Road UMC Kids & Teens Ministry, where you'll find a place to belong, grow, and thrive in God's love. BRUMC Youth Sunday Morning Small Group 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Young at Heart: Aging Faithfully Together
At Blair Road UMC, we recognize the importance of ensuring that every member of our church family feels valued and connected, regardless of age. That's why we have a special ministry called Young at Heart, dedicated to providing a supportive community for our elderly members.
Young at Heart is a gathering for adults who are aging faithfully. Our focus is on fostering fellowship, exploring informative and educational topics, and nurturing spiritual growth.
Our gatherings typically consist of engaging programs that address relevant topics for seniors, followed by a time of fellowship over lunch. Whether it's a guest speaker, a discussion on a spiritual theme, or an educational presentation, our aim is to provide meaningful content that enriches the lives of our members.
At Young at Heart, we believe in the power of community and the importance of building relationships that span generations. We encourage our elderly members to reach out to one another for support and companionship, knowing that they have a church family that cares deeply for them.
If you're looking for a welcoming community where you can age faithfully alongside others who share your faith, we invite you to join us at Young at Heart. Together, let's continue to grow in grace and wisdom as we journey through life together.
