WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. He lived a perfect and sinless human life and sacrifices himself for each of us on the cross. After three days, he rose from the dead demonstrating his power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and will come again to judge both the living and the dead and he will reign eternally as the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
The Return of Christ
We believe that in the future, known only to God, that Jesus Christ will return to the Earth in full glory and power. There will be a bodily resurrection of all humanity and a final judgement of all persons, both for eternal reward and eternal punishment. In the end, God will have complete and eternal victory over Satan and will establish a perfect kingdom in a new Heaven and a new Earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son and reigns eternally alongside of them. He is present here in this world with us to draw people to the Father through the Son and show us of our need for Jesus Christ. He is also alive and active in each believer at the moment of salvation and enables us to understand spiritual truth and live God honoring lives. He has also gifted each believer with spiritual gift(s) to usher in the kingdom of God on Earth.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is recorded in the Old and New Testaments. It is inspired, eternal and true and is preserved and protected by the Holy Spirit as God’s Word for the Church. Its truth applies to all people and all times.
We believe that apart from salvation in Jesus Christ, humanity is lost and their souls are in eternal peril. We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. A person’s sins are forgiven by accepting Jesus’ sacrifice on their behalf. We also believe that those who die apart from a saving faith in Jesus Christ are separated from him for all of eternity in a place called Hell.
We believe that the love of God and the love of our neighbor go hand in hand. Our neighbors live beside us and all around the world. Missions serve, both locally and abroad, as an arm for the local church to reach our neighbors with the love and hope found only in Jesus Christ and is therefore a vital tool to spread the Gospel.
As members of the United Methodist Church, we join the fellowship of brothers and sisters around the world and claim historic distinction in the Wesleyan faith. These distinctives include prevenient grace, free will, personal & social holiness, assurance of the believer, and a connected church body.
